COPE (Cooperative Orthotic & Prosthetic Enterprise) is the main source of artificial limbs, walking aids and wheelchairs in Laos. COPE is now a local non-profit organization, located in Vientiane (Laos), working in partnership with the Medical Rehabilitation Center (CMR) and provincial rehabilitation centers to provide access to prosthetic devices and rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and pediatric services for people with disabilities. Its excellent Visitor Centre offers a wide range of interesting multimedia information exhibitions on prostheses and UXO (unexploded ordnance) that make the use of these prostheses necessary. Numerous powerful documentaries are shown in rotation in a comfortable theatre, and there is a gift shop and a coffee shop in the building. 100% of the proceeds from these activities go to support COPE projects in Laos.
